These vintage German educational charts are so cool -- and seem to be enjoying a lot of interest from the design community these days. I've seen examples in half a dozen shelter magazines, such as in this Steven Gambrel-designed room featured in Elle Decor:
Originals usually fetch nosebleed prices at chi-chi vintage stores, and even reproductions stocked at shops like Anthropologie -- which currently offers the dandelion model below, among others -- will set you back a few hundred bucks.
But if you look around on eBay, you can find the real deal for less: The circa-1978 sunflower chart pictured at top, for instance. It's in pristine condition, measures an impressive 44 by 32 inches, and comes mounted on wooden rods for easy hanging -- no framing required.
Current bid: $50.
