Folding screens are much more common in Eastern design. Also, in Eastern design, they usually have some unique ink drawing on them.
My personal favorite is one that I saw in a Japanese restaurant I frequent. It features bamboo drawn in like ink, and dark wood frame. Very unique.

i`m actually impressed by the industrial vision of the 1st apartment which is very cool my by opinion. and the ladder on the 3rd picture- AMAZING! as a student in architecture i always look at that kind of details, which are part of construction and have a special funktion :) About these panels that can form a space.. i really like them and i`ve posted something about that theme maded of bamboo
The gargantuan floor lamp in the first pic is fabulous! Very "Alice in Wonderland."
