Cool Stuff: Scented Wrapping Papers

Not too long ago, I was browsing in Rockridge's divine Maison d'Etre when I came across several boxed sets of really beautiful paper. And not only was the paper lovely to look at, it was imbued with a subtle but heavenly natural fragrance as well.

Produced in collaboration by Brickhouse Soap and Dewey Howard, the recycled paper measures a generous 19 1/2 by 27 inches, and can be used to line your drawers, to wrap gifts, or to give as a gift itself. The scents include green tea, fig, orange blossom, verbena, cinnamon clove, and rosewood.

The paper is $30 for a box of six (the recycled boxes are beautiful, too) from Figments Design, at Anthropologie stores, and, of course, at Oakland's Maison d'Etre.

Cool Stuff: Snow & Graham Papers

I stopped in at Berkeley’s wonderful Cody’s Books yesterday, and while I was browsing there I spotted a rack filled with the most gorgeous sheets of wrapping paper from Chicago’s Snow & Graham. I wound up buying several different patterns (and not a single book -- go figure).

I know these are meant for wrapping gifts, but I think they’re pretty enough to frame – and that’s exactly what I plan to do. (My definition of “art” is very loose -- and my budget for it is very tight. So $2.75 per “print” is right up my alley.)
