eBay Find of the Day: Pear Dish

I am all about the pear right now: That shape, that yummy yellow-green color, the Scandinavian simplicity of it.

I'm in love with my Marimekko Paarya panel, and I was crushed when Victoria (of the wonderful sfgirlbybay blog) beat me to the awesome pear canister, right, from the new Three Potato Four shop. (I am so going to be haunting Victoria's Petite Flea in case she ever tires of it.)

But maybe I can still nab the great Pfalttzgraf pear dish, top, up for auction on eBay right now.

Current bid: $5.

Color Obsession: For the Love of Lime

Lately, I just can't get enough of the lighter, poppier shades of green. From lime to citron to chartreuse to olivine to pistachio to pear to apple green to wasabi, I am absolutely eating them up.

The good news is that, despite the inherent boldness of the hue, bright green is actually quite versatile: It's fresh and youthful when paired with yellow, pink, blue, or white, but takes on a more sophisticated, autumnal mood mixed with browns, reds, and deep oranges.

Apparently, I'm not the only one lusting after lime -- the shade seems to be popping up everywhere these days. A look at some lime loveliness:

Cool Stuff: Sticker Clocks

More finds from the UK's Graham & Green: Say what you will about the whole wall-decal fad -- there's no denying that these sticker clocks are totally cute, fun, and functional.

I love the sly humor and visual trickery of the red cuckoo, and adore the fresh green color and sweet motif of the bird graphic. I think I must have one for our kitchen.

The clocks are available for 18 pounds sterling (about $36) each here.
