eBay Find of the Day: "Midwest Modern" Fabric

What would you do with this great selection of fabric from Amy Butler's brand-new "Midwest Modern" collection? The seven half-yard cuts could be turned into pillows, seat covers, stretched over canvases for instant homemade art, or maybe whipped up into jaunty little aprons or handbags. So many possibilities ...

The fabric normally retails for about $10 a yard. So purchased from a store, this collection -- which includes Amy's Honeycomb, Garden Maze, Happy Dots, Martini, Nouveau Trees, and Optic Blossom patterns -- would run $35.

Current bid: $20. (Hurry -- the auction ends early Thursday morning.)

Cool Stuff: Modern Wreath

I spotted these mod metal wreaths on the front door of fabric designer Amy Butler's "Midwest Modern" abode in the current issue of Blueprint magazine, and thought they were a fun, funky alternative to the standard evergreen holiday wreath.

The wreaths are from San Francisco's own Kenneth Wingard, and are constructed of overlapping circles of powder-coated steel.

Hang one on your door for the holidays, and then put it to use as a bit of Op Art on a wall inside -- or, as Wingard suggests, lay it flat on a table and fill the center with pillar candles for an arresting centerpiece.

Available for $60 right here.

Etsy Find of the Day: Pendant Lights

These fabric-covered pendant lights from Etsy seller jobysoisson set my heart aflutter.

And, at just $50 each, they're a total bargain.

I've been looking for overhead lighting for our breakfast room, and a cluster of these hanging drums would be so pretty. Sold!
