If you're local, don't miss the farewell party at Old Oakland's Mignonne (1000 Jefferson St. at 9th) from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, when nearly everything in the shop will be marked down 30 percent. And don't despair -- the French-flavored boutique is moving to great new digs in Berkeley in June.

On a totally unrelated note.....I was planting flowers on my 'urban' outdoor deck today, and a bird had started a nest, in the outdoor chandelier I've got.
I let her be.....when ever she'd fly by. And I left her a bowl of water and some bird seed.
