eBay Find of the Day: Sphere Chandelier

This vintage chandelier is a bit hard to categorize -- it's sort of Sputnik, but also sort of Seventies Fabulous.

Made in Italy by Gio Ponte's company FontanaArte, it's composed of smoked crystal squares radiating out from a chromed frame, giving the chandelier the look of a futuristic metal-and-glass dandelion.

Whatever you call it, there's no denying that it's way cool.

Current bid: $81.

Cool Stuff: Big Bang Lights

The gracefully exploding forms of these Sputnik-like Big and Little Bang lights will bring back warm and fuzzy memories of the Atomic Age. Made from spiky polypropylene, each comes with a lamp kit, 6.5 feet of white cord, and a ceiling medallion.

They're available for $76 and $92 here.
